I’ve been on a roll trying out as many MAC products as possible from their wide range of makeup.
I don’t think I need to tell you’ll how amazing their collections are, I love the fact that there is always a new collection. By the time you get through one, the next one is already out!
Their makeup artists are also very engaged with social media, so you get to see lots of exclusive previews and swatches before the products are released. Which obviously increases your urge to buy the product. Good thinking MAC.
It has been great so far discovering what they have to offer. I have been really enjoying myself…up until…now. Okay, so, well I am still enjoying myself, I know with every brand there are bound to be hits and misses. So, let’s carry on and see how this ends.
I already found the perfect liquid liner, perfect powder, foundation (review coming soon) and brow set from MAC. I have been faithfully using MAC powders and foundations for many years now and it will always be my go to brand for the essentials. Now I figured I was ready to put to the test some of their brow products. The most popular, besides the Brow Set, is the Eye Brows (yeap, that’s exactly what it’s called: Eye Brows).
MAC Eye Brows in Stud
It is a retractable eye brow pencil with a very fine tip.
I wish I had tried this one first when the package arrived, instead I tried the Kajal Liner and panicked once it broke and wouldn’t go back in. We will come to that soon.
But first, I give to you MAC Eye Brows in Stud.
The oh-so-fine tip makes it easy to draw on very natural looking brows. The colour is not harsh but just perfect, you only need to use a light hand and small strokes to mimic real brow hairs. Stud suits my NC45 skin just fine and I am loving this pencil for daily use. I heard the colour Spiked is good too (it is very popular as well), maybe I’ll try it next time. It was out of stock when I wanted to get it, so I settled for Stud but no regrets here, Stud works just fine.

MAC Veluxe Brow Liner in Velvetstone
Next up on our brow discovery today is the Veluxe Brow Liner in the colour Velvetstone. It is described as a dark black/brown on the website. It looks a little different in real life as compared to the swatch on the website.
The colour is really dark, but not black. It looks great by all means but the colour payoff has some minor issues. It only draws on well if you use the edge of the pencil. Hmm, how do I put this.
If you hold it at an angle, you get a good, pigmented line but if you hold it straight and use the centre of the pencil, it seems a little patchy.
It cost slightly more than the Eye Brows. The Veluxe Brow Liner retails for RM 83 and Eye Brows for RM 80.
I am going to carry on trying to find the best way to use it. The pencil is not as precise as the Eye Brows. So right now, I outline my brows with Eye Brows and then fill in the sparse areas with the Veluxe Brow Liner.
I get a stunning bold brow. If you prefer a more subtle look, I think Eye Brows would be the best choice for you.
Here are photos of the pencil. A bonus is you get a spoolie on one end which is super convenient.
P.S. It comes with caps for both ends, so don’t worry. I took the caps off for the photo. Talking about the caps, one of the it was stuck so hard and I had to resort to all sorts of measures to get it off, leading to an absolute panic. It eventually came off. Once it was out, it went back on easily and it’s okay now. What an experience today, MAC.
MAC Modern Twist Kajal Liner in Cat’s Meow
On this purchase, I got a free full size Modern Twist Kajal Liner in Cat’s Meow (Black) (it retails for 17 USD) because of a promotion MAC Online Malaysia is having at the moment for purchases above RM3OO. I do not see it on the Malaysian website but it is available on the US website. I love the name of the colour, I’m sure Karen would approve of it.
So there I was happily twisting it out and suddenly, it REFUSED to go back in. I have previously used the Technakohl liner which also comes in a similar retractable packaging but had absolutely no issues with that one.
While I was trying to get it to go back in, the tip broke. It was only a tiny bit that broke, phew, because I love the formula! It’s so creamy and dreamy and give you a sultry look when used in your waterline .
I love me some good samples. And a full size one at that!

MAC False Lashes Extreme Black
I also got a sample of the False Lashes Extreme Black mascara. It is a nice mascara and I was pleasantly surprised because their mascaras are generally not raved about. I might even be tempted to get the full size.
I also got the pencil sharpener that I have yet to try out. I will update you once I do.
Final thoughts: I am super excited to try out more of MAC’s Brow products. As always, they are very long-wearing and give you a well-done look without much effort.
I hope you enjoyed this post and got some useful information out of it . xx
