MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation: Through Rain & Shine

A waterproof Foundation?! *gasps*

I have worn this baby under the rain, and it didn’t budge! So now I can assure you that it is waterproof.

MAC’s Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof foundation comes in most of the popular shades like NC15, 30, 40, 42, 50 and also in NW shades but of course the shade range is not as extensive as Studio Fix.

Update: MAC will be extending the shade range for this Foundation in Summer 2017.

What MAC says it is?

A tenacious waterproof formula that can be used as a foundation or concealer, wearing for an unprecedented 16 hours. Neither rain nor tears can budge this oil-free watertight product that actually repels moisture from the surface of the face. The formula blends seamlessly on the skin with medium to full weightless coverage and a natural satin finish.

This foundation is definitely medium-buildable to full coverage, MAC claims that it can be used as a concealer, it probably can but I have never tried that, I only use it as a foundation. The formula is very long-wearing and it is great if you are looking for a base that doesn’t budge for an entire day.

I switched to this after Studio Fix, the two have entirely different finishes. Studio Fix is completely matte, while the Pro Longwear is more satin like. You can make it matte by setting in with the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural , my favourite powder!

However, note that you get slightly lesser product, specifically 5 ml lesser. You get 25 ml (0.85 fl OZ) for RM 185 with this foundation. Perhaps, it is because of the high-performance formula.

How did I choose this? I wanted something long-wearing and the waterproof aspect of it was appealing, especially when you live in a country with sun all year round, you start sweating even before you can say “I’m ready!”.

Left: Swatch of NC45 , Right: Buffed out

  • Rating: 4.8 / 5
  • Pros: Waterproof, very long-wearing, true to claim, doesn’t budge all day.
  • Cons: Limited shades, lesser product.
  • Would I repurchase? Yes, I probably would but I still want to try all the other MAC Foundations, especially the Next to Nothing Face Colour that’s on its way!!
  • Final thoughts: Fabulous foundation that not only gives you great coverage but sticks by you (on you) for better and for worst.

I hope you enjoyed this post and got some useful information out of it, till we meet again in my upcoming MAC Next To Nothing review!! Xx
